Meal planning?
Another newbie question here... I'm sure it's been asked before, but I don't see it- sorry if it's a repeat.
I was looking at the meal plans in the book, and I was wondering if you're expected to stick to them directly, or if they're just an idea to help you maximize the nutritional value and minimize hunger while sticking to the Phase I and II requirements. In other words, do most people make their own "regular" food or do they follow the meals to the letter. (Just as an example, I know I'm not ever going to eat cottage cheese! But I could bring myself to eat a piece of leftover grilled chicken for breakfast...)

It's totally up to you. For the first week of the six-week challenge, when I first started the carb-sensitive diet, I followed the menus pretty much to the letter, with just a few changes here and there. And as I learned how to follow the plan, I became a little braver and a little more adventurous and started planning my own meals. I've been known to eat leftover grilled chicken or steak for breakfast because I get tired of eggs. It's all about what works best for you. I find that I'm normally most hungry in the morning and early afternoon, so I try and put most of my protein in during that time because it sticks with me longer than other stuff. Following the menus, at first, though, helped me to acquire new eating habits and "get the hang of" the diet.
Hope that helps. Good luck! |
