    Question Calorie shifting?????

I KEEP HEARING & READING ABOUT CALORIE SHIFTING TO SPEED WEIGHT LOSS & BREAK A DIET PLATEAU......BUT DOES IT REALLY WORK? HAS ANYONE REALLY TRIED IT? SUPPOSEDLY STICKING TO YOUR DIET FOR 6 DAYS & CHEATING FREELY ON THE SEVENTH WILL BOOST METABOLISM & SPEED WEIGHT LOSS......ANYONE TRIED IT?

That's a great question, and in my case it DID work.

I would mix up my calories each day. Somedays 1500. Somedays 2000. Somedays 1800. The key is to keep your body guessing as to how much fuel it is going to get each day so it doesn't acclimate itself to a set number. Our bodies are efficient and if they figure out that they will be getting only a certain number of calories each day, your metabolism will slow down so you don't burn too much fuel.
I think (WW people help me out here) that is the reason behind the Flex Points in Weight Watchers. All I know is it worked for me.

I do think that mixing up the amount of calories and such that you eat each day will help, because your body will not get stuck in a routine of say, 1500 calories each day. I think you should still make sure you eat healthy stuff on your 7th day. I don't think cheating freely is necessarily the best plan, but perhaps to eat more calories, but still within a set limit.
