    acanthosis nigricans (dirty neck syndrome)

Anyone else suffer from this due to insulin resistance? If so, has anything helped?

Following a low carb diet, getting plenty of exercise, and drinking lots of water has helped all my PCOS symptoms, including this one! It's really been amazing!

I've never known that was caused by insulin resistance -- can you tell me more?

Thanks, Tracy. I've had this problem in the past on my neck, but just thought I wasn't washing my neck well when I showered. This gives me some food for thought!

thats a great site for info on it. Thank you. I have had insulin resistance for 11 years and it has been worsening in the last few years, as the weight went up, the neck got worse. I hope that it fades away, when I am healthy. I already see a little difference, I think I seen it posted somewhere on here, that 30 minutes of exercise, balances out the insulin resistance for one day. I hope that is true. I wear my hair longer to hide it and if someone sees it they think I dont bathe. I hate it!!
