A funny milestone...

Ok, just had to share this unexpected treat here with you all. I went to our little local amusement park ("Tinkertown") :bday20: with the whole fam today, and I fit into every ride in the amusement park!!! I couldn't help but compare to the last time we went, a year ago, when I was still around 210 lbs, and feeling very snug in the rides and when those security belts came down on my midsection. Not comfortable and very conspicuous! It really accentuated the size of my belly, and I was really choosy about which rides I even attempted to go on. But today, I was just a "normal" parent, riding all the silly rides with my kids and loving it. That is, until I rode the Tilt-a-Whirl and almost threw up - all that spinning! Yikes! That was the end of my riding anything... but it was still fun, and I didn't feel like someone was going to tell me I was too big to go on anything. Cool! Just thought I'd share! :3dblob1:

:rollrsk8: That is fabulous! Congratulations on reaching a great mental point in your journey! And I'm so happy you got to just enjoy your time with your kids and not think about the weight. :D

That's a fantastic milestone and realization that you have come so far.

It's also a special one to me, because I had never really seen myself as "that fat" until I went to an amusement park with my family while on vacation and tried to get into a seat and realized that I was the only one who couldn't. So to be able to enjoy a place like that as a healthy adult, Lisa, is just wonderful! Congratulations to you for coming so far!!!

Only someone who has gone through the feelings of not fitting into amusement park rides can even imagine what the experience is like. My whole family would think I'm  if I even mentioned how excited I was to be able to go on the rides. It's never occurred to them that one could have huge issues about these things. So, I know you know what that's like, AZ. You, too, are moving in the right direction! Keep up your good work, too! :clapper:

Lisa, I know exactly what you mean!! I was three sizes bigger the last time we are Hershey Park, and this year, I fit pretty well in all the rides... well, save for the OLD Comet, but it was built when people WERE smaller. During one ride, there were signs saying the harness had to fit securely to your thighs - and showed a rather large woman with an X over it.... I had a real fear I wouldn't fit - I even said something to DH, to which he answered "you'll fit, you're not that big." And I did... and I was VERY happy.

Way to go for noticing such a milestone!! You keep me motivated to continue on my journey! Thanks for sharing!! :huggers:
